What exactly is the Edinburgh Festival Fringe?
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest arts festival on Earth, and one of several festivals taking place in Scotland’s capital each August. In 2009, the Fringe was made up of a record-breaking 2,098 different shows giving a total of 34,265 performances in 265 venues.
What are the dates for the 2010 festival?
Fringe 2010 will run 6-30 August.
How can I take part in the Fringe?
The Fringe is an open-access festival, which means that anyone can perform without any constraints from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, which, as a body, does not produce any shows, invite anyone to perform, run any venues or pay any fees to artists.

When is the Fringe Programme available and how can I order a copy?
Our annual Programme of events is launched in early June. You can pre-order a copy of the Programme from early May. While the Programme itself is free, there is a small charge to cover the costs of post and packing. Sign up to our mailing list to be notified when pre-ordering of the Programme will begin.
How do I get tickets?
The Fringe Box Office opens in June. Once the Box Office opens, tickets can be purchased online, by phone or over the counter.
Where can I buy Fringe merchandise?
Our online shop is now open with a wide range of Fringe merchandise for sale. (If you wish to enquire about an existing order, please email admin@edfringe.com.) Edinburgh customers can also shop in person at the official Fringe Shop on 180 High Street.
