The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society has published its Annual Review of 2011.

Last year the Edinburgh Festival Fringe featured an estimated 41,689 performances of 2,542 shows in 258 venues. An estimated 1.8 million tickets were issued, and nearly one thousand journalists and nearly another thousand arts industry professionals from countries ranging from Australia to Zimbabwe attended.

In 2011 the Fringe Society worked hard to further our three key objectives of providing support, advice and encouragement to all participants; providing comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date information and ticketing to as wide a range of people in as many ways as possible; and raising the profile of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe on a local, national and international stage. How we went about meeting those goals is set out in the Annual Review.
