The Fringe Society’s Board of Trustees are looking to appoint two new trustees to help shape the future of the world’s largest arts festival.

The Fringe Society is a registered charity which exists to:

  • Support, advise and encourage everyone who wants to participate in the Fringe.
  • Provide information and assistance to help audiences curate their own Fringe experience.
  • Promote the Fringe and what it stands for all over the world.
  • Ensure the Society is sustainable, utilising its resource to the greatest benefit of the Fringe and its constituents.

These new trustees will play a crucial role in the future of the society to deliver its Blueprint (to align with the Fringe’s 75th anniversary) and the latest five-year strategic plan.

Role one – Legal Expertise

We’re looking for an individual:

  • With significant senior experience in corporate or charitable expertise.
  • With a keen understanding of the challenges and opportunities governing a charity, preferably with a knowledge of sponsorship and corporate responsibility.
  • With experience of managing significant investment initiatives.
  • With significant experience of commercial contract negotiation.
  • With an interest and knowledge of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and a desire to champion the organisation publicly.

Role two – Commercial Business Expertise

We’re looking for an individual:

  • With significant senior executive experience in a commercial organisation;
  • With a strong track record in business development, planning and strategy design;
  • With experience of managing significant investment initiatives;
  • With a keen understanding of the challenges and opportunities governing a charity includes;
  • Preferably with knowledge of investment, sponsorship and corporate social responsibility;
  • With an interest and knowledge of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and a desire to champion the organisation publicly.

Trustees attend five board meetings and an AGM per year, all held in Edinburgh. The role is not remunerated although expenses are met.
