The second round of Herald Angel Awards have been announced. This week saw the first Archangel award, the highest honour awarded to someone who has made a sustained and valued contribution to the Festivals over a number of years. There were 6 Angel winners awarded to festival performers, venues and backstage crew as well as the first Little Devil which is presented to someone who has overcome adversity to produce their work.
The Herald Archangel award went to The Wooster Group (EIF).
The Herald Angels went to Patti Smith (EIF), The Wau Wau Sisters (The Famous Spiegeltent), Mirenka Cechova from S/He is Nancy Joe (Zoo), and Circa: Wunderkamer (Underbelly).
The Little Devil went to Lea McGowan from Now Leasing (C Venues).
The next round of Herald Angel Awards will be released on Saturday 24th August.
