Donald Robertson is Not a Stand-up Comedian has won the 2014 Flying Artichoke, the Scottish Arts Club/Edinburgh Guide.com Scottish Theatre Fringe Award for outstanding quality in the Fringe Festival.

The production, at the Traverse Theatre, is written and performed by Gary McNair.

The judges described the winner as "a tale of Stand-up Comedy with a sharp twist that both startles and satisfies."

Janis Joplin; Full Tilt (Assembly Checkpoint) and A Walk at the Edge of the World (Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art) were placed second and third by the six member judging team.

The award will be presented at a ceremony at the Scottish Arts Club in Rutland Square on Sunday 24 August at 6.30 p.m.

The judging panel comprised Liz Smith, John Scott Moncrieff, Paul Fitzpatrick, Joyce Caplan, Irene Brown, chaired by Catherine Robins.
