Fringe Central, the Fringe Society’s participants centre, is your home away from home during the Fringe and is open for the month of August.

Fringe Central is available to any and all performers, producers, company members, arts industry or members of the media wanting to make use of our services and meet up with fellow Fringe participants.

The Fringe Central Events Programme is designed to help you make the most of the world's largest arts festival by providing events to expand your skills, meet new people and gather all the information you need to develop and enhance your career.

The full range of events includes workshops, panels, drop-in sessions and discussions, presented by the Fringe Society in partnership with a range of organisations who are specialists in their field.

Call for entries: 2020 Fringe Central Events Programme

We’re currently looking for expressions of interest for the 2020 Fringe Central Events Programme. You can check out some of our recurring programme sections below; for 2020, we’re particularly interested in strengthening and developing our health and wellbeingbreaking down barriers and environmental sustainability strands. We also welcome events focusing on specific genres such as dancecomedymusic and spoken word

For the third year running, we’ve recruited a Youth Panel to help guide the Fringe Central Events Programme from curation to delivery; their suggestions and interests will influence which events we choose and the content of each strand.

Please note: Events in the Fringe Central Events Programme are presented in partnership with the Fringe Society. We provide in-kind support, supplying event space and programme marketing (via social media and the printed Fringe Central Events Programme) to the thousands of artists, companies, arts professionals and media attending the festival every August. We can only offer financial support to freelance / independent practitioners identified as key partners for their strategic benefit to the programme. If you wouldn’t be able to participate in the programme without this support, please email [email protected].

In line with our commitment to supporting participants openly and impartially, all events at Fringe Central must:

  • be free to attend
  • be open to anyone taking part in the Fringe
  • not be used as a promotional tool for any Fringe show.
