Each opportunity is managed by the independent company/venue listed, and so specific enquiries concerning any of these listings should go directly to that company/venue, on the contact details they have provided.

 

#Pianodrome Live and #Pianodrome Lunchtime Concerts

Pianodrome Lunchtime concerts are open to all - a different act each day. Free entry. All acoustic in the Pianodrome - a 100-seater amphitheatre made entirely from pianos.  Pianodrome Live is a ticketed event hosted by Sink, the creators of the Pianodrome. We are looking for high quality music to share our stage with. 1 hour performances and opportunities for collaboration.

All Star Comedy Cabaret

Venue: ​Hanover Tap, 112 Hanover St, EH2 1DR

A spectacular mixed bill variety show bursting with the best stand-ups, character comedians, musical acts and the most original performers at the Fringe. Think modern-day music hall. Hosted by character comedian Jody Kamali.

Ben Gosling: Jobs (with Special Guests)

A character comedy show. Each day will feature a different special guest act opening, performing 15-20 minutes, then it’s on to Ben for the last 40. Open to stand up and sketch acts (and everything in between!)

Big Band Grand Slam

Brewhemia's Festival Showcase

Having hosted evenings with The Brief's Factory, Gingzilla, Accordian Hans & The Bugle Boys; Brewhemia's Festival Showcase is not to be missed! We are looking for cabaret shows & music for 15 minute shots.

Canadian Club

Canadian Club is a stand up comedy compilation show. The comedians are mostly Canadian but we're so friendly we'll have anyone on. Looking for people who are comfortable doing 15 minutes for a 25% bucket split.

Chinese Arts and Culture Festival

CLAW: The Confederation of Lady Arm Wrestlers

Venue: ​Heroes @ Boteco Basement, 47 Lothian St, EH1 1HB

The Confederation of Ladies Arm Wrestling (CLAW) is looking for comedians, Comics, Drag Kings, Queens, Dames, Double Acts and Character acts of any background to appear in this phenomenal show. CLAW is all about inclusivity, femmes and fun. Arm Wrestlers MUST identify as femme. NO CIS MALES shall arm wrestle.  If appearing in a Double act, the female shall wrestle. Cis males are very welcomed as allies and encouraged to perform as part of the Arm Wrestler’s entourage.     Guests should have around 4 minutes of material and shall be pitched against each other as well as in-house CLAW regulars, in three rounds. We encourage character acts and personas or you can appear as yourself.  We have a limited amount of costumes for you to draw from.

Jim and Dave Have Lost The Dressing Room

A comedy show about the beautiful game. Stand-up, sketches, songs, prizes and special guests

How to apply: Comedians /Performers looking to be involved in our 'Football Room 101', whereby you argue things that need to be taken out of football, should email [email protected] with a bit about yourself and what you might like to talk about.

 

Luka Muller’s Gong Show

Venue: ​Counting House, 38 W Nicholson Street, EH8 9DD
Event date and times: 01-25 August at 23:00

A Gong Show where the acts get between 2-6 minutes, but unless something goes really wrong, we will give you at least 4 min. After the set, acts do a quick interview with the judges. A winner is chosen each show and given a cash prize.

Musical Comedy Guide Showcase

Venue: ​Just The Cask Room at The Mash House, 37 Guthrie Street, EH1 1JG
Event date and times: 01-25August (not 12) at 15:45-16.45

This show is promote the online Musical Comedy Guide, by way of showcasing live musical comedy (comedy that uses music) at the Edinburgh Festival, with five acts in each show. So if you are performing musical comedy at the festival this year, and would like to perform some of it for up to 10 minutes (and optionally host a show) at one or more of these shows, please get in touch.

Pollyanna Cabaret

Get ready for glitter, sweat and tears and come and be part of the Pollyanna family! For the fifth year Pollyanna will be home to the messiest, glam, queer artists that the Fringe has to offer. Showcase an excerpt of your show or try out new ideas and go wild in our late night cabaret.  Pollyanna is an late-night queer cabaret hosted by alt-drag creature Pollyfilla at our home Paradise Palms, just off Bristo sq. For the fifth year, we will be filling our shows each night with different performers, and we'd love to hear from you! We blend performance art and drag with comedy, theatre, dance and an array of experimental acts. We love fresh, messy talent and are open all types of performers - the weird, unusual, and alternative is all welcome

She Grrrowls

She Grrrowls is a feminist arts night with an emphasis on spoken word that features women and non-binary people. It is hosted by Carmina Masoliver and will aim to feature two regular acts alongside one new act each night, plus an open mic section.

Tales from the Balkans

A classic stand-up comedy show, filled with compelling storytelling, one-liners, satire and a healthy dose of self-deprecation.  Looking for performers of all different genres and backgrounds to complement my show.

Tales of Whatever

Venue: ​Just the Tonic at The Caves (Just the Wee One), Rowantree Bar, EH1 1LG

Northern powerhouse Tales of Whatever (@talesofwhatever) returns for 2019 with changing daily line-ups of seasoned Fringe comics and performers, all going off-script to share true stories of first-hand experiences. Up to five different acts join hosts Mark Powell and Lee Moore each day with 10-minute tales of weird, horrifying, funny, glorious or memorable incidents and encounters. Previous speakers from as far afield as Buenos Aires, Gauteng, Melbourne, Salford and NYC have discussed being shipwrecked, marrying pantomime horses, collecting in-laws from prison, and solving domestic hauntings with GCSE chemistry. 'Conversational, funny and inclusive' (Guardian).

The Antique Jokes Show

Top acts dust off their most out-of-date material. This year sees the debut outing of the show sure to become a Fringe favourite. What happens when the world moves on and your favourite comic's freshest material is no longer relevant? Pokémon Go, Princess Diana, The Matrix, the credit crunch... Come and rediscover comedy gold that's been kept in storage... until now!

The Full Irish

The Jam Society

Venue: ​Charteris Centre (Just The Sanctum) 138/140 The Pleasance, EH8 9RR
Event date and times: 01-08 August, 18:00

A feel-good comedy cabaret/variety show featuring a host doing absurd/silly comedic material, a live band playing mostly improvised music and guest performers (two to four). Comedians, burlesque artists and circus performers are all welcome. The general tone of the show is funny, silly, and uplifting. The band can improvise a soundtrack for the guest performers.

The Nasty Show Australia

Showcase of professional comics performing filthy / offensive material. Paid.

The Salisbury Arms

Space to showcase performances would be in our Bar Area or outside in the Beer Garden.  Being so close to the main Fringe areas we have a lot of guests who visit us before going on to shows.

Well, That Was Weird...

A comedy show for those who are sick of the mainstream. Forget Trump gags, Tinder references or cheesy punchlines. At Well, That Was Weird... we are celebrating an eclectic showcase of the Fringe's most alternative acts, performing inventive comedy deemed too bizarre for normal shows. There will be improv, music, theatre, spoken word, stand-up and some stuff so out there you won't even know what to call it, all under the absurd umbrella of comedy. So sit back and enjoy the strange! Hosted by comedy vagabond Shawn Jay and master of weird Ori Halevy.

How to apply: Please send us an email ([email protected]) letting us know what you'd like to perform (ideally with a video of you performing if we don't know you). We are looking for acts which are funny and weird. The three acts at each show will be invited back on stage at the end of the show to play a short improv game with each other and the audience (think truth or dare, or setlist, or whatever else we come up with).
