Russian Roulette cabaret is looking for a variety of guest performers to fill 7-10 minute slots (we can also accommodate slightly shorter or longer acts). We are particularly interested in any acts that involve danger, i.e. circus, stunt magic, acrobatic dance acts etc. But other types of acts are more than welcome too: it can be anything from mentalism to singing, dance, original genre and other acts of interest. We are very centrally located and the venue is a spacious 200-seater with a large stage, high ceilings and amazing vibes. It is an excellent opportunity for showcasing an excerpt from your show or trying out new ideas. You can bring along flyers for the audience and our hostess Shantisha will make sure you have a chance to promote your show.

Acts in past years have run the gamut from individual acts and groups of singers and musicians to comedy, serious and comic theatre, cabaret, buskers, dance – and much more. We are open to anything that looks interesting.
Acts run for 15-20 minutes, and participants should arrive about 20-30 minutes before show time. There are no fees or payments involved, but past participants have said their appearances were fun, worthwhile and provided good publicity.
Over the past nine years, we have welcomed acts form Australia and New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong and other parts of Asia, Africa, The Middle East, various parts of Europe, Canada, the United States and South America. It has been quite eclectic – and great fun.

Comedy Queers / Free Festival
Venue: Laughing Horse @ The Counting House, 38 West Nicolson Street, EH8 9DD
Event dates and times: 00:45. 02-26 August(5-10 minute slots)
Comedy Queers is a late night Edinburgh showcase of LGBTQIA+ comedians from across the fringe. Presented by rising star Sian Davies.
Comedy Queers offers the audience the opportunity to see a variety of acts who would not usually be featured on the same bill. Queer comics, like female comics and BAME comics, are often used as “others” on standard line-ups. This means it is unusual to have more than one queer act on the same bill. Comedy Queers invites performers who are often marginalised to join together and share the stage. Oh, and it’s a big queer party. Every. Single. Night.
With queer comedians, variety performers and drag acts, as well as some special guests this party is set to go off! Alcohol, nudity, rainbow flags, fancy dress, glitter and neurotic meltdowns are all standard fare at one of the most diverse shows in town. When you’ve seen one too many straight/cis comedians at the fringe, spice things up at the Queer Comedy showcase. The daily changing roster of comedians is one of the most diverse line ups at the fringe. Here’s your invite to party in style with the true Kings, Queens and non-binary Royal titles of comedy. Comedy Queers: How Refreshing!
