Round the corner from Stand 1, our little sister club is in its 24th year hosting the latest comedy talent. This intimate studio space is situated in a large, Georgian-style first floor drawing room. The venue is fully seated and has a separate bar and waiting area. For customers with access needs, the first floor is accessible by a steep flight of 23 steps. Latecomers may not be admitted.

Catie Wilkins: We’ll See

At the Morecambe Poetry Festival 2023, Robin was officially handed his Poetic Licence (it is real, he’ll show it to you if you ask, and often if you don’t). This new show mixes poetry and happy stories about the things that have made life delightful, from Doctor Who and horror movies, to the camaraderie of protest marches and and his love of dishevelled cemeteries. Robin is a multi award-winning comedian and host of the The Infinite Monkey Cage on Radio 4.

This evergreen Geordie comedian is back at the Fringe doing a brand-new hour of sardonic jokes, dark observations, surreal one liners and epic grandiose yet simultaneously dumbed down set pieces. Gav is product of his time, a kid in the chaotic but colourful 70s, a YTS survivor cynically exploited to avoid being a dole statistic in the Thatcherite 80s, he began doing comedy in the early 90s and, like many from this blank generation, had no template to learn from or indeed nothing to lose. When poverty and Moss Side and Old Trafford's gangs are both less worrying than sadistic nuns, paedophile priests and your best mate wanting to kick your head in, should you look for a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow or a rub of the relic to ease all that internal guilt and pointless belligerence?
