The St Andrew Camerata returns to the Fringe with these atmospheric, late-night performances of Gabriel Fauré's much-loved Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine. Taking place in the heart of the city in the beautiful setting of Old Saint Paul’s, the choir will be directed by Robert Dick and accompanied by orchestra. These shows are the perfect way to wind down from a day at the festival and have proven incredibly popular with festival-goers since first appearing in 2006. Book early to avoid disappointment!

Over many years, the Jacobite church of Old Saint Paul’s has accumulated an exceptionally rich collection of church vestments, hangings and linens. This two day exhibition offers Edinburgh’s residents and visitors the opportunity to see the ways in which beautiful cloth, intricate embroidery and superb needlework can bring a distinctive artistic dimension to Christian faith in the practice of worship. Expert guides will be on hand to explain the symbolism skillfully embodied in fabric, and the religious ceremonies in which these magnificent items are regularly used.

Emma Morwood’s recent concert highlights include appearances as a soloist with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Edinburgh Royal Choral Union. Ingrid Sawers is equally at home in instrumental and vocal repertoire. She has performed at numerous venues throughout the UK, Europe and Canada and broadcast live on BBC radio arts channels.

The bible verse 'we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses' provides the inspiration for this musical celebration of great Christian saints and martyrs. Interspersed with poems reflecting the same theme, the highly acclaimed choir of Old Saint Paul's (director John Kitchen, Edinburgh City Organist) will perform a selection of music, drawn from many centuries and reflecting the lives and deaths of some of the greatest witnesses to Christian faith.
