A distinctive historic venue in central Edinburgh, minutes from Waverley Station. Formerly a bakery, bottling plant and ice-cream workshop, the space now hosts creative, innovative and socially driven events. Run by a partnership of charities and social enterprises, all venue income is reinvested into collaborative projects supporting communities across Edinburgh and beyond. Set over two floors, the downstairs accommodates up to 100 seated, with disabled access and toilets.

BENCHES is a free, immersive exhibition celebrating neurodivergent creativity through the lens of autistic amateur photographer Tim Hart. Featuring over 1,000 photographs with audio commentary, alongside a short art film, personal artefacts and interactive materials, the exhibition reveals beauty, humour and fascination in the overlooked details of daily life. Through benches, post boxes, phone boxes and other familiar features of the British landscape, BENCHES invites you into Tim’s world of experiencing shared public spaces in diverse ways.
