Lili Redman (formerly La Scala) is back with seductive Siren, blending dark eclectic songs and life stories in a frank, funny and melancholic musical voyage. Having achieved international success, and award nominations with her previous shows, War Notes and Songs to Make You Smile (Best Vocal Performance, Buxton Fringe 2012), AFVS Lili Redman returns, somewhat later than planned, with Siren. Gathering some of the most haunting music from both the classical and cabaret worlds, as well as new music by Michael Roulston, she has created a mysterious, enigmatic musical experience. Fay Fife (Rezillos infamy) brings her alt-country influenced songs to the Voodoo Rooms. Steeped in eclectic Americana influences, Fay's personal stories lace her songs together: weaving in gritty lyrics, earthy twang and melodic hooks. Alchemy happens when Fay’s voice, spontaneity and natural verve come together, backed by some of Scotland’s finest musicians. The Countess of Fife’s album, Star of the Sea, was a chart and critical success. This show features songs from that album plus brand-new work and a few surprises. This is a devastating live act. Secret Lives: The Untold Story of British Hip-Hop and Q&A

John McLaughlin (hit songwriter/producer/singer of Johnny Mac and The Faithful) performs songs of his friend and genius Shane MacGowan (The Pogues and The Popes). Johnny and his band blast through the classic songs of the great man whilst McLaughlin shares fond memories of their times writing and recording together and of course going to the pub! This homage is a celebration of the life and works of one of the greatest artists of all time and is endorsed by Shane’s wife, Victoria Mary Clarke. So, let’s all raise a glass to Shane!

Mr B invented chap-Hop in the summer of 2007, having drunk too much sherry and inadvertently created a new culture. Since then, he has travelled the world, spreading his beats, rhymes and manners. He has recorded 13 albums and has rapped for Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight and for Rob Da Bank, Steve Lamacq, Claudia Winkleman, Tom Robinson, Shaun Keaveny on the radio and for Zoe Ball on Sky TV. He has been described as ‘a cross between the home service and Run DMC’ by Evening Standard. ‘Too funny and dope’ (Nile Rodgers).
