At the foot of the Royal Mile, Venue 13 has been bringing the best of emerging talent to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for decades. Now in it's fourth decade, ‘this serene little venue’ (Scotsman) is focused on unique performances that don't fit in other venues from the immersive to the ecological to the interactive in collaboration between Scottish and Canadian artists.

Venue 13 hosts a special series of CCTA plays, marking 10 years of bold, climate theatre. Across 20 events, audiences will experience a curated selection of short plays including 40 of the audience’s favourites from the past festivals, alongside 10 new works in a final set of commissions. This international showcase brings together artists, activists and change-makers to explore the climate crisis through urgent and inventive storytelling. In partnership with Culture for Climate Scotland and the Traverse Theatre, the CCTA at Venue 13 offers a resonant and reflective send-off to a transformative global project.

A.I. Campfire is a dark, immersive experience led by Symbiolene, an A.I. database-turned-host born from the lost Green Men who conjures memories of Scotland’s spirits, like Selkies and Kelpies. Through haunting and vivid audiovisuals evoking tales of gentle warnings and broken covenants, audiences are enveloped in an otherworldly atmosphere where folklore turns into valuable teachings that will help preserve their bond with nature. Programmed to learn from ancient ecosystems to build a balanced future, Symbiolene interprets these tales as reminders that nature has memory, and that when the earth is pushed too far, its spirits may seek vengeance.

The Time-Travelling Paperboy: Fake Reports from Edinburgh's Future. Step into 2026 with hilarious and absurd headlines foreshadowing Edinburgh's chaotic future. Ghosts striking at Edinburgh Castle, robots delaying their uprising with cat-powered demands. An essay about JK Rowling's weird opinions, news from body part markets, robot politics, Fringe festival antics, cats vs dogs essay war and many more with sky-high jokes-per-page ratio. 5,000 copies of the fake newspaper distributed on the streets! Don't miss this unique blend of satire, social commentary, time-travelling paperboy charm! Live segment is 15 minutes followed by 1-2 hour optional reading.
