Eclipsing Stars
Tonight at Ford's Theatre, President Abraham Lincoln will be assassinated. John Wilkes Booth pulls the trigger while his brother, Edwin, grapples with the consequences. Both destined to a life in Shakespearean theatre, this new musical follows the diverging paths of the brothers as civil war rips the country apart. Narrated by PT Barnum as ringmaster, audiences enter a circus of memory where history and spectacle blur. Written by former Cirque de Soleil trapeze artist and historian Kaely Michels-Gualtieri and award-winning composer Chi Wai Hu. Developed within the University of Cambridge, debuting at the Fringe.
