Colin Steele and Martin Kershaw Quintet
Chet Baker and Stan Getz exemplified the laid-back soulful sounds of 1950s California cool school jazz. This new project features Steele (trumpet), Kershaw (saxophone), Dave Milligan (piano), Brian Shiels (bass) and Max Popp (drums) who will transport you to a time when melody was king. 'The best music I saw might have been Martin Kershaw and Colin Steele playing 50s bebop at the Jazz Bar, which I wasn't expecting, but it made me hear that music as a living organism rather than a museum piece' (Stewart Lee).
