Budd Boetticher
Screening as part of Budd Boetticher: The Ranown Cycle. EIFF presents six compact and beautiful films directed by Budd Boetticher, which present the apotheosis of the Western genre and all-star classic Hollywood golden age movie icon Randolph Scott. Presented in collaboration with Edinburgh Film Guild and introduced by Ehsan Khoshbakht from Il Cinema Ritrovato. In Buchanan Rides Alone Scott plays lone gunslinger Tom who finds himself embroiled in a bitter feud in a corrupt town. Traditional Western thrills fuse with elements of the courtroom drama in this lurid and exciting tale. Classified: Parental Guidance.
