A train grinds to a halt after a suicide. With the temperature rising, a neurotic professor on her way to an environmental protest and a nihilistic nomad wasting his days on this train spiral into a heated battle over our existence. Is it a joke, a tragedy, or just going nowhere? Inspired by the works of Anton Chekhov, Going explores the individual’s role in the environmental emergency. Born from the same frustrations experienced by four individuals from four countries, this one-act play explores themes of purpose, responsibility, and sacrifice. With the planet on fire, how do we keep going?
