Making Strange in association with Fringe Management
A grad student's confrontation with her professor over the fifty sexual assaults in Ovid's Metamorphoses sparks a magical yet terrifying transformation shattering both their ideas of gender, sexuality and desire. Actor Sarah Baskin morphs into gods, goddesses, boyfriends, girlfriends, tricksters and fiends in a whiplash comedy-drama that is Freaky Friday meets the classics. Through seventeen characters and 120 transformations, this show cuts to the duality in all of us: aggressor and victim, teacher and student, god and mortal. 'You'll never think of classical literature again without these women coming into your head' (Sydney Morning Herald).
