Eclipsing Stars
Tonight at Ford's Theatre, President Lincoln will be assassinated. John Wilkes Booth pulls the trigger while his brother, Edwin – the most celebrated Shakespearean actor of his generation – must live with the consequences. Guided by P.T. Barnum as ringmaster, audiences enter a circus of memory. History and spectacle collide as the Booth brothers' lives unfold against the backdrop of the Civil War. This musical, a work in progress by a former Cirque du Soleil trapeze artist turned historian, with music by an award-winning composer, is performed by graduate students from University of Cambridge.
