The Next Act

Multi-generational company of Edinburgh-based women perform Alan Bennett's iconic Talking Heads monologues: A Lady of Letters, A Bed Among the Lentils, Her Big Chance and Cream Cracker Under the Settee. Witty and poignant, each actor brings a distinctive voice to Bennett's portraits of loneliness, desperation and resilient humour. Though rooted in the 1970s and 80s, these sharply observed studies remain strikingly relevant. Simply staged, we offer an intimate, moving and unexpectedly funny exploration of women's lives.
