Mari Crawford
The Neurodiverse Review Bounce Emerging Artist Award 2023 recipient, Bipolar Badass, is a dark comedy that tells the story of Mari being diagnosed with bipolar. Mari likens her illness to a fire-breathing dragon that she needs to tame, passed down through genetics. Her late grandmother who endured unethical medical treatment hands her the dragon's leash. Mari has no desire to be chained to a terrifying dragon for the rest of her life, which is her inevitable fate. She embarks on the journey to learn how to live with her forever altered identity. Directed by Nadiya Atkinson.
