Chatterbox

United Kingdom - Scotland
Performer / Performance company

Lubna Kerr

Chatterbox is about the power of language, words and the impact of labels. Who get listened to and who doesn't. How does that impact a five-year-old girl who was called stupid because she couldn't speak English at primary school in Glasgow? A young child hiding her embarrassment but found coping methods. When being bullied wasn't just the domain of the other pupils. When the parents who came from Pakistan to study in Glasgow in the 1960s, can only offer emotional support, how does Lubna make friends? Can kindness go a long way to help?
