Lantern Boy follows the Wu family across ancient and modern Shenzhen, China through the stories of two boys – one who begins the fish lantern tradition and another who revives it in modern times. As a grand festival nears, a sudden storm threatens everything. But the Wu family’s magical lanterns, glowing with perseverance and tradition, restore hope and unity. Featuring traditional Chinese music, dynamic dance and vibrant lantern puppetry, the show is a heartfelt celebration of Cantonese culture, folklore and the enduring spirit that connects generations.
