The Classic Theatre Project
The Zoo Story is an award-winning, shocking and timely look at fragile, toxic masculinity. An absurdist masterpiece by the celebrated American playwright Edward Albee, this one-hour startling drama explores an unlikely friendship between Jerry, a socially awkward outcast, and Peter, a domesticated publishing executive who meets the man who may help him burst out of his suffocating, personal zoo. The ending is a shocking in 2026 as it was at its premiere in 1959. From The Classic Theatre Project in Yorkshire, producing classic stage works up close.
