John Hegley
Having been a highly satisfied customer of this venue, John is delighted to have been invited to do a short festival run and take on the folk/roots feel of the programming. The tales are sung, spoken and depicted in bits of cardboard, many of them seen and heard for their first time, here at the UCC. The folk include family members alongside the human suitcase, the dry drystone wall builder, the Hokey Kokey madam and Hercules's grandma. Devised for adults but not unsuitable for the odd nine-year-old. 'An incurable entertainer' (Guardian). 'Awesomely mundane' (Independent).
