Mesmerising Mechanisms

A free, hands-on exhibition featuring a collection of wooden machines which demonstrate the fascinating and often bewildering motion of mechanisms. Old-school, hand-driven mechanics: gears, cams, levers... those twisty bits... All working together to produce interesting and often amusing effects. You’ll see Drawing Machines, which produce elaborate patterns. Just turn the handle to make your own unique artwork to take away and impress your friends. There are Ball Runner Machines, which propel a set of balls around in complicated circuits. This year, the Hedgehog Automata are helping out with the other machines.
