Hebei Bangzi Theatre / Huai Tune Cultural Centre
When the sky collapses and chaos engulfs the world, the goddess Nüwa melts five-coloured stones to patch the heavens and restore order. This production brings together Hebei Bangzi Theatre and the Ci Xian Huai Tune Cultural Centre, featuring Huai Tune – a 300-year-old intangible heritage from southern Hebei. Combining traditional singing, stylised movement, contemporary lighting and multimedia design, the opera transforms an ancient creation myth into a modern theatrical experience. With only six performers, it tells a timeless story of sacrifice, guardianship and hope, connecting a fading art form with global audiences.
