Yang Sun and Poets

A solo dance-theatre work following an immigrant dancer chasing her New York dream. Through movement, spoken word and simple props, the piece traces the city’s dazzling promise, restless speed and the collision of visa uncertainty, fleeting romance, friendship, and loneliness. As hope of staying meets bureaucratic scrutiny, the performer confronts her identity beyond ambition and approval. Intimate and immersive, the work blends humour and melancholy, offering a tender portrait of longing, resilience and the courage to seek light in a shifting city.
