Week in, week out, Maks collects bins. Follow his route around the neighbourhood, meeting the crazy Pavlenkos, the beautiful Yelena and his headstrong wife Valentyna. This is Ukraine, but not as you know it. Inspired by the bravery of Ukrainian refuse workers who risked their lives when war struck their city, this BBC Radio 4 shortlisted drama questions what it means to live in a community and lose it overnight. 50% of all profits will be donated to rebuilding Ukrainian homes. 'A testament to the beauty of ordinary life, the poetry of Ukraine and the devastation of war' (Bloomsbury).
