The Room Dance Theatre (China/UK)
As individuals who have not experienced childbirth, how do we imagine this process? Having been born, how do we use our bodies to reawaken memories of our birth? And what happens when we try to recall it? In a womb-like space, dreamlike imagery combines with tightly choreographed ensemble work to explore the unique energy of motherhood. Having experienced birth alone, can we experience a shared birth? The entire performance of Room aligns with the process of birth, inviting audiences to return to their original state of existence and engage in a process of rebirth.
