Heritage Collections

Using the University’s 350-year-old art collection as its focus, this exhibition brings together historic and contemporary artworks by 30 different artists around the theme of the environment and ecology. Taking inspiration from rooting – such as searching, growth, beginnings and interconnectedness – it invites visitors to consider entangled stories of art, extractive histories and nature across time and artforms. Rooting is being delivered in collaboration with the University’s Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability (SRS) and will highlight ongoing activity across the University to create a more sustainable future.
