Schola Cantorum, director Michael Ferguson
This recital is inspired by the recent installation outside the Cathedral of Homeless Jesus, a bronze sculpture by Timothy Schmalz depicting Jesus as a homeless person, sleeping on a park bench. Among other works, the programme will include the acclaimed composition Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet, a 1971 composition by Gavin Bryars based on a loop of an unknown homeless man singing a brief improvised stanza.
