Chris Hutchings
First published in Edinburgh in 1650, the Scottish Metrical Psalter remains in use to this day. This celebration of its remarkable contribution to sacred music includes Edinburgh composer Chris Hutchings' new setting of Psalm 24, and three commissions from winners of last year's young composers competition, as well as music from the period of the Psalter’s publication. The evening includes an opportunity for the audience to join in singing some of very best known Scottish psalms.
