Two women, a century apart, find themselves in the same psychiatric institution. Justine struggles against Victorian-era expectations of femininity while imprisoned in Saint Dymphna’s Asylum for the Insane. In our present, Margot struggles to come to terms with her admission to Saint Dymphna’s Center for Psychiatric Care – and her own identity. As the women face their new surroundings, the vastly different care they experience showcases the innovations in the field of psychiatry and the changes in our society's interests and priorities.
