The Riverside Theatre Company
This reinterpretation of The Crucible juxtaposes the story of the Salem Witch Trials with a current day trial by social media. In a world of persecution, isolation and fear, the pressure to conform overrides individual integrity, the work asks the question what are we willing to sacrifice to save our reputation? The production will combine physical theatre, text, dance and an original sound score, creating an engaging drama that transports the audience between 1692 and current day as the stories of young women are told in parallel. A tale of coercion.
