We've all been stuck at dinner with someone who just won't shut up. One more drink. One more opinion. One more thing that they have to say. It's Alma's 30th birthday, and her sister Billie has brought her new boyfriend to dinner. The restaurant is closing, but he won't stop talking. Politics. Sex. Religion. Money. He calls it casual conversation. The sisters call it something else. A dark comedy about sisterhood, ego, and the cost of being polite, Sobremesa asks: why is it so hard to let the people we love make their own mistakes?
