Jenna Baer / PBH's Free Fringe
Continuing the oral storytelling traditions of her lineage blended with theatre, Jenna Baer traces threads connecting generations. As the last Spider Witch, she weaves stories of five generations of her family: Appalachian healers, midwives, regular women and rebels who pass along their survival and power through folklore and folk medicine. Like a spider's web, inheritance doesn't move in straight lines. Knowledge skips generations, spirals, back, tangles and repairs itself. What do we inherit from those who came before us? What must we untangle to set ourselves free?
