ætla
Terrane is a contemporary jewellery exhibition presented by ætla and curated by luxury writer Kate Matthams during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Featuring work by Alice Cicolini, Castro Smith and Ellis Mhairi Cameron, it brings together jewellers whose practices are shaped by place. The exhibition explores how landscape informs making through texture, colour and material, without directly depicting scenery. Instead, the work reflects quieter influences such as surface, palette, and material choices shaped by lived and remembered environments. Visitors are invited to experience jewellery as a response to land, movement and memory, considering how place continues to inform contemporary craft.
