Scotland's Best Comedy Venue (Chortle Awards) since 2020, welcomes back its Fringe showcase for 2025! A new line-up every night presenting the best acts from the MBC line-up and the rest of the Fringe. 'Fringe heroes' (Metro). 'The beating heart of the Fringe' (Telegraph). The club was home to the winners of both categories in the 2022 Edinburgh Comedy Awards, Winner of Best Comedy Show 2023 and the winners of both in 2024. 'Down there at the Monkey Barrel, there's something in the water, and I can't stop drinking it!' (Sam Campbell).

Venue Age Restriction: 16+ Restriction after 22:00, 18+ Restriction after 23:00. Buy a ticket in advance to guarantee entry. If no ticket allocation is remaining, limited Pay What You Want tickets may be available at the venue on the day of the performance on a first come first served basis to people in the PWYW queue. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee of PWYW tickets.
