Mark McKergow Quartet and Porter Jones
Sonny Rollins’ eight decade jazz career led him from Harlem to the White House and around the world as a true great of the tenor saxophone. His music is joyful, exciting and soulful, with Caribbean influences alongside the whole range of jazz styles. Rollins’ band featured a trombone, so saxophonist Mark McKergow and his band are joined by American trombonist Porter Jones for a dive into music from the 1950s onwards. Mark is one of the most versatile jazz saxophonists around. He’s played in both Perth, Scotland and Perth, Australia, and lately with two bands.
