The Provocateurs
Choose profit, choose western diseases, choose fast solutions, choose easy targets. Dr Mary Wheldon (University of Dundee) didn't. She chose to work on neglected diseases. She talks about the realities and challenges of doing not-for-profit medical research. A cut. A cough. A routine infection. What happens when the medicine stops working? Superbugs are on the rise and they’re closer than you think. If you’re not scared yet, Professor Clare Taylor (Edinburgh Napier University) will terrify you.
