The Provocateurs
Is it me, you or everybody else? Communication underpins everything we do and yet so often we misunderstand one another. Dr Bryony Buck (Edinburgh Napier University and University of Dundee) explores how divergent brains and bodies can make even simple communication difficult, and possible ways to address this. Ensuring a detainee’s dignity defends against prohibited treatment and supports a more successful return to society following detention. Professor Kasey McCall-Smith (The University of Edinburgh) explores how bad breath, faulty lights and over-running privies unjustifiably degrade lives in detention.
