The Provocateurs
Where do you get your health information? In 1985, women visited the Women’s Health Shop on the Royal Mile. Dr Karissa Patton (The University of Edinburgh) explores the history of women’s health information, from tales of snake oils, clinical trials and local activism. Would you rather die young and beautiful, or old and prune-like? Dermatologists talk about the hazards of sunlight, but Professor Richard Weller (The University of Edinburgh) asks have we got sunshine all wrong as modern science uncovers health benefits. Part of the Edinburgh Medical School’s 300th Anniversary.
