The Provocateurs
Should libraries be quiet? Dr Rachel Salzano (Edinburgh Napier University) asks whether libraries are (still) quiet places, what communities think about sound in public libraries, and what people really want to hear in the library. Choose profit, choose western diseases, choose fast solutions, choose easy targets. Dr Mary Wheldon (University of Dundee) didn't. She chose to work on neglected diseases. She talks about the realities and challenges of doing not-for-profit medical research.
