Noel and Liam Gallagher to stage rival post-gig Fringe shows

01 April 2025 News
The shows will take place after Oasis's Murrayfield gig on Saturday 09 August 2025

UPDATE: As some of you may have guessed, this Oasis story was an April Fool’s joke – to the best of our knowledge, Noel, Liam and the rest of the band are not connected with any shows at this year’s Fringe. It was all in good fun – don’t look back in anger.

If you are interested in finding out what’s on at Fringe 2025 though, join us tomorrow as we reveal another batch of shows!

In news that will shock fans all around the world, Oasis today revealed the masterplan behind their choice to schedule their Murrayfield gigs in the middle of August: so they could stage Fringe shows of their own!

However, in a demonstration of the Gallagher spirit that’s familiar to millions, Noel and Liam have announced that they will host separate post-gig performances, at the same time, in separate venues. Oasis fans hoping to see both shows will undoubtedly be left crying their hearts out.

In a nod to his sometime side project, Noel feels the time is right to reveal his secret passion for aerial trapeze in Flyin’ High, which will hosted by The Aviary, a songbird-themed pop-up venue in the New Town. In his show description, Noel shares how being hoisted up in the sky makes him feel ‘as if I’m standing on the shoulders of giants, d’you know what I mean? I’ve kept it hidden for ages, but the time’s come for me to go let it out and, y’know, make it happen. And I hope, I think, I know the fans will stand by me.’

Keeping distance from his big brother, Liam is contrasting his usual big-mouth demeanour with a three-hour mime performance, (Not Gonna) Talk Tonight. ‘Some might say “I can see a liar!” but whatever, they’ll just have to roll with it,’ says Liam’s characteristically in-your-face show description. ‘I’m fed up being a rock’n’roll star – I’ve realised that mime is where I really shiiine. Honestly, mime is the artform that, little by little, is gonna make me live forever’. His custom-built venue, Eye-Aye, will be entirely constructed from strings of beads and located half the world away from Noel’s, on the other side of the Meadows.

Don’t believe the truth? Wondering why both shows can’t be here now? More details on the performances are definitely, maybe set to be revealed later today – stay tuned.
