Fringe Alumni Club
Have you been involved in a Fringe show? Join our Alumni Club to share your story and support emerging Fringe artists.

You’re part of the Fringe’s history – be part of its future
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe holds a special place in the heart of so many people. As a global event that now welcomes over 3,500 shows a year, there is an immense community of Fringe alumni across the world. Some have continued in the arts, others have gone on to careers in different sectors, but all have a Fringe story to tell.
We are excited to introduce our brand-new Alumni Club, which is for anyone who’s been involved in a Fringe show across our 78-year history. If you’ve performed, produced, designed, directed, called, marketed or had any other involvement in a Fringe production, we would love to hear from you.
What is the Alumni Club for?
The Alumni Club is the Fringe Society’s new way of:
- recognising and celebrating the accomplishments of those who’ve been involved with the Fringe
- reflecting on how the Fringe has shaped their career, in the arts or other sectors
- communicating the impact that Fringe alumni (both financially and more holistically) can have on future artists and creatives, especially those who might not otherwise be able to create.
How do I join?
Fringe Alumni Club memberships will open soon!
Membership is gained via shared details of your Fringe connection and a personal choice of entry donation. Your contribution will go directly towards the Fringe Society’s charitable work, supporting artists and emerging producers, and ensuring that the Fringe remains inclusive and accessible. Your support maintains the Fringe as an accessible global festival and world-class performing arts expo.
In return, you’ll receive:
- a personal welcome pack and regular e-newsletters
- a merch discount in our Fringe shop, online and in store
- a discount on play texts and theatre books from Concord Theatricals
- recognition on our website and in the new Fringe Central on Infirmary Street
- invites to exclusive Fringe events
- the opportunity to network and reconnect with other alumni
- the chance to ‘pay it forward’ and inspire up-and-coming artists and creative professionals.
'I performed my one-man show, Wiesenthal by Tom Dugan, at the Fringe in 2023, a three-week sold-out run. It was exhilarating, exciting and exhausting; in short, it was wonderful! That first day we had four hours to load in, set up, do a full tech, then a full dress rehearsal, then strike and store all sets and props! We had done the show locally in the US, but the Fringe was our chance to take it international, and it worked: we followed up with a limited run at the King's Head Theatre in London, and our next stop is Adelaide!'
- Christopher Gibbs, Wiesenthal, 2023
What impact will my entry donation have?
We appreciate that the financial positions of those wanting to join the Alumni Club will be incredibly varied. It is therefore entirely up to you how much you choose to donate alongside your Fringe story; any amount is hugely appreciated and makes a difference to our charitable work supporting artists and audiences.
However, if you would like to make the most of this opportunity to pay it forward to those bringing work to future Fringes, here are some examples of the incredible impact your Alumni Club membership could have:
- £50 could cover five artists’ use of a desk for a week in our new Fringe Central, giving them valuable space to focus and create.
- £120 could provide a rehearsal room for a week for a local artist in our new Fringe Central, giving them the freedom to create and explore in a safe, accessible space.
- £300 could provide a day’s drop-in mental health and wellbeing support service to artists, run throughout the festival via Health in Mind.
- £650 could fund an entire event as part of our Fringe Central programme, which will help artists’ professional development and make sure they’re supported through their Fringe experience.
- £1,400 could fund one up-and-coming producer through Emerging Professionals, our mentoring programme for a small cohort of emerging UK-based arts professionals, helping them to expand their professional networks and develop their learning and creative insight at the Fringe.
