Schools Poster Competition 2018

  1. The competition is only open to pupils studying in Primary 1 to Senior 6 as part of the 2017/2018 academic year from schools in Scotland.
  2. Entries must be received by 17:00, Friday 09 March 2018. Late entries will not be accepted.
  3. Teachers entering scanned images of artwork must retain the original artwork. If shortlisted for exhibition, we will require the original artwork to be sent.
  4. Only posters that win a place in the exhibition will be retained by the EFFS. We cannot return or offer collection for any other entries due to the scale of entries we receive. Posters featured in the exhibition can be collected from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society office from Monday 03 September 2018
  5. Entrants in the Fringe Schools Poster Competition 2018 shall assign to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society in perpetuity, all copyright of their artwork.
  6. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society reserves the right to use part of, or the entire image of, the artwork submitted to the Fringe Schools Poster Competition 2018 on any Fringe merchandise or promotional material.
  7. Submissions that do not meet the deadline, entry specifications or are not labelled clearly will not be considered.
  8. The Schools that have shortlisted posters (including the winners and regional winners) will be notified in May 2018 by post and email. All communications will be done through the nominated contact at the school.

Participants survey prize draw 2017

The following terms and conditions apply to our Fringe participant survey, sent out to all primary contacts with registered Fringe shows in 2017.

  • The promoter is the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society (Registered Charity SC002995) whose registered office is at 180 High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1QS, United Kingdom.
  • The competition starts on the day of the survey is released, and will end at 23:59:59 on 31 October 2017. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
  • Employees of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
  • To be eligible for the prize draw, entrants must complete the Fringe participant survey. The prize winner will be selected at random from the qualifying entries within three working days of the survey closing date.
  • By entering the competition you give consent for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society to use your name and any other personal details you provide for promotional/marketing purposes.
  • The prize is a unisex Fringe hoodie in blue, charcoal grey or navy blue, posted anywhere in the UK (1st class), EU or Rest of World (standard class). The Fringe Society will contact the prizewinner for their colour choice and size.
  • The entrant must be aged 18 or over.
  • The Fringe Society will contact the winner by email. If the winner cannot be contacted within 14 days of the close of the survey, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society reserves the right to offer the prize to another eligible entrant. The prize will be distributed within 24 hours of being claimed by the appropriate postage method.
  • The winner may be required to show proof of identity. Use of a false name or address will result in disqualification.
  • All entries must be made directly by the competition entrant. Multiple entries will not be accepted.
  • The competition is in no way associated with, sponsored or endorsed by MailChimp, SurveyMonkey or any other social media site where the competition is promoted.
  • Entries made online using methods generated by a script, macro or the use of automated devices will be disqualified without discussion.
  • Confirmation of the prize and instructions for delivery will be made to the winner by email via the email address provided on the survey.
  • The random selection of the competition winner made by the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society is final and no correspondence will be entered into over this decision.
  • The Fringe Society reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  • The Fringe Society is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party.
  • By entering this competition, the entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  • No cash alternative to the prize will be offered. The prize is not transferable. The prize is subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute a prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  • The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Scottish law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.

JustBe Fringe Chocolate prize draw terms and conditions (17 July 2017)

The following terms and conditions apply to the edfringe shop prize draw posted on Monday 17 July 2017 by the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society social media channels.

  • The promoter is the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society (Registered Charity SC002995) whose registered office is at 180 High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1QS, United Kingdom.
  • The prize draw starts on 17 July 2017 at 12:00:00 and ends at 17:30 on 29 September 2017. All prizes must be claimed by the closing date, 17:30 on Friday 29 September 2017.  
  • To be eligible for the prize draw, entrants must purchase a JustBe Fringe chocolate from the edfringe shop at a retail cost of £2.75 and find a winning ticket inside the chocolate bar packaging.
  • To claim a prize, the customer must present the winning ticket to a member of staff in the edfringe shop during opening hours (https://tickets.edfringe.com/box-office) Prizes must be claimed by 17:30 on 29 September 2017. A staff member of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society will then provide the prize winner with either the prize itself or a voucher with details on how to redeem the prize.
  • Prize winners will be asked to have their photo taken on redemption of the prize-winning ticket which will then be posted on Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s social media channels. This is optional.
  • EFFS are not responsible for any injuries, accidents, reactions or issues in any way with any of the prizes as part of the prize draw
  • The prizes (in no particular order) are as follows:

1.A one-night stay for up to two guests in a one bedroom penthouse apartment at Old Town Chambers for up to two people. The winner must email the contact address found on the voucher, quoting the voucher number to arrange the stay. Subject to availability. Certain dates are exempt. Excludes 01-31 August 2017, 24-26 and 30-31 December, 01-04 January 2018, 12-17 February 2018, 30 March – 17 April, 26-28 May 2018, 21-24 June 2018. Can be used at the weekend, based on availability. Expires 30 June 2018.

2.First class return ticket with Virgin Trains East Coast. Winner will receive two first class return tickets between any two Virgin Trains East Coast stations on Virgin Trains East Coast services. Winner must complete form which is enclosed in the winning gift voucher envelope and return to the contact name and address detailed on the form. The ticket request will take at least 15 working days to be processed. Expires 31 July 2018.

3.£150 Tesco gift card. Winner will receive gift cards totalling £150 (two x £50 gifts cards and five x £10 gift cards). The gift cards can be redeemed at any UK Tesco store or Tesco direct desk. Also redeemable on www.tesco.com where the gift card payment option is available at the online checkout. A credit/debit card is required for online processing and identification purposes. You must be aged 18 or over to use online. Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash or credit. The card and balance will expire five years from purchase or last card use. Damaged, altered or cancelled cards will not be accepted. Lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced.

4.£100 COVET handbags and accessories voucher. The prize winner will receive one £100 gift voucher to spend on Covet brand handbags and scarves. Voucher can be redeemed at Covet, 20 Thistle Street, Edinburgh, EH2 1EN. Expires 31 October 2017.

5.£50.00 Waterstones gift card. Gift card can be used as full or part payment for any goods (excluding postage stamps and any other goods added from time to time) for sale in all Waterstones’ UK shops (including those not names as Waterstones) and on Waterstones.com. Gift card cannot be used to purchase any other vouchers or tokens, cannot be exchanged for cash and are non-refundable in any circumstances. The card is for personal use only and cannot be sold nor used for commercial purposes. If a card is not used (meaning used to purchase goods or presented for a balance enquiry) for any consecutive 24 month period the balance will reduce to zero and the gift card will be suspended. Neither Waterstones or the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society are liable for lost or stolen gift cards but the prize winner can contact the Waterstones Customer Support team to see if they can help. 6.£45 Wagamama gift card. The £45 is comprised of three £15 gift vouchers. The prize winner must present the voucher to the server before ordering. Valid at a Wagamama restaurant in the United Kingdom excluding Northern Ireland. Not valid with any other promotion. Only original cards accepted. No cash value. There will be no cash change given. For use by person who won the prize. Card retained by Wagamama. Not valid when purchasing Wagamama merchandise. Valid until 30 November 2017.

7.A hamper of Scottish gifts from Margiotta Food and Wine of Edinburgh. The prize winner will receive a hamper of gifts from local suppliers in Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland. The hamper includes products from Tasty Joes, House of Brew, G & Sons Company Sauce, JustBe, That’s Jammy, The Spice Witch, Stockan’s Oatcakes, and Stoats and promotional leaflets from Margiotta Food and Wine of Edinburgh suppliers.

8.Breakfast for four at Dishoom. The gift voucher entitles four people to breakfast at Dishoom up to the value of £60. The voucher must be presented the server once seated. Valid at all Dishooms. Voucher entitles guests to food and drink up to the sum stated. No refund or change will be given. Not valid with any other offer. Valid until 27 June 2018. Manager-walla to accept. Complimentary.

    • The promoter is the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society (Registered Charity SC 002995) whose registered office is at 180 High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1QS, United Kingdom
    • Entry is open to residents of the UK only.
    • Employees of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
    • Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are via https://twitter.com/edfringe. The prize is an “I’m with boring” T-shirt and a “Get #unbored” foam finger.
    • Closing date for entry will be 12 noon on Monday 21 July 2014. After this date the no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
    • The entrant(s) must be aged 18 or over.
    • When collecting your prize, proof of identity may be required. Use of a false name or address will result in disqualification.
    • All entries must be made directly by the competition entrant.
    • Posting duplicate, or near duplicate, updates or links is a violation of the Twitter Rules and jeopardizes search quality. Multiple entries in a single day will not be accepted. Anyone found to have entered the competitions using multiple accounts to enter will be ineligible.

    • Confirmation of the prize and instructions for collection of the prize will be made to the winner  via twitter. For this reason, entrants must be followers of the @edfringe Twitter account to qualify for entry to the competition.
    • The winner chosen at random is final and no correspondence will be entered into over this decision.
    • The Fringe Society reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
    • The Fringe Society is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party.
    • No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
    • Winners will be chosen at random from all entries received. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
    • The promoter will notify the winner how the prize can be collected via twitter.
    • By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
    • The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Scottish law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
    • The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
    • Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
