We are pleased to announce that TikTok will proudly return as the Official Virtual Stage of the Fringe for 2023.

For the second year running, TikTok will help to bring Fringe artists and shows to even bigger audiences than ever before.

Every day on TikTok, creators are kickstarting trends, shaping culture and finding a new audience that's helping to drive their success on the platform and on stages in the real world. It's where stars from the comedy, music and performing arts scenes get started, going on to create sell-out shows and find real-world success.

So, whether you are attending the Fringe to soak up the live performances, an artist looking for their big break, or embracing the action from afar, here's how you can experience the magic of the Fringe with TikTok.

Helping stars get started

As the home of up and coming creative talent, TikTok will be working alongside the Fringe Society to support emerging talent across the performing arts scene.

From providing workshops to masterclasses with experts, TikTok will showcase how any budding performer can unlock the opportunities the platform has to offer, to tap into new audiences and raise awareness of their shows.

TikTok will also be supporting artists through the Keep it Fringe fund, providing ad credits to artists to help them build an audience and drive ticket sales on TikTok ahead of their performances at the Fringe.

James Stafford, General Manager, Operations & Marketing, TikTok UKI & Nordics said: "We are delighted to partner with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for a second year running, as the Official Virtual Stage.

"The Fringe vision is to give everyone a stage and everyone a seat, and this is something that resonates so much with us at TikTok, as we aim to connect global audiences with the next generation of creative talent.

"This year we are also thrilled to see so many TikTok creators making their debuts at the festival. We watch on in awe as our community of stars continues to shine in Edinburgh and beyond."

Shona McCarthy, Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, said: "We're delighted to welcome the return of TikTok to the Fringe this summer as the virtual stage of the festival. As one of the world's largest social media platforms, artists will have the opportunity to be discovered by new audiences who can engage with them virtually and then experience the live show here in Edinburgh. We'd also like to thank the team at TikTok for their kind support of our Keep it Fringe fund, a new project launched earlier this year, to support fifty artists and companies in bringing work to the Fringe this summer."
