"It's opened my eyes massively."

Applications are now open for teachers to take part in the second Teachers’ Theatre Club, run in partnership by the Fringe Society and Imaginate. Teachers’ Theatre Club is an exciting opportunity for primary, secondary and Additional Support Needs teachers practicing in local authority schools in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

The club – made up of 10 teachers – will see a range of live performances in Edinburgh over 11 months, including shows at the Edinburgh International Children’s Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Each show will be followed by a group discussion, building the teachers’ experience and confidence in discussing the quality of different performances. They’ll also discuss how the shows could enhance and inform teaching practice.

The club will meet arts industry professionals including artists, designers, programmers, critics and production staff. Successful applicants will need to have an enquiring and critical approach to the shows and draw links to their own practice, actively sharing their ideas with the group. They’ll help co-design the project and develop practical skills to confidently explore live performance both as individuals and as teachers.

Please note, applications close on 12 February 2020 at 17:00. There are places for 10 teachers in the club.
