We're delighted to announce a new partnership with Bloomberg Connects, who will become the official Storyteller of the Fringe through the creation of a new digital guide, sharing the history and stories of the festival.

Bloomberg Connects aims to connect audiences to arts and culture, anytime from anywhere, through their free app. With a vision closely aligned to our own of giving anyone a stage and everyone a seat, this new guide will tell the festival's story across more than seven decades, share the background to the Fringe’s vibrant street performer history and highlight some of the famous faces who have made their names here, including Robin Williams, Billy Connolly and the Fringe Society's own honorary President, Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

The Bloomberg Connects app offers guides in over 40 different languages to over 400 museums, galleries, sculpture parks, gardens and cultural spaces across the world and, as part of this new partnership, from today will include a special Edinburgh Festival Fringe guide. This project has been achieved in collaboration with experienced arts journalist and Edinburgh local David Pollock, author of Edinburgh’s Festivals: A Biography.

Audiences can access the guide by downloading the Bloomberg Connects app from the Apple or Android app store:

Shona McCarthy, Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, said: ‘We’re delighted about this new and exciting partnership with Bloomberg Connects. We hope the guide will help audiences learn about the history of this joyous, global celebration of arts and culture. The Bloomberg Connects app does a fantastic job of showcasing arts and cultural organisations, and we're pleased to be joining nearly a dozen other Edinburgh organisations. We hope Fringe audiences will have time to use and enjoy this new guide between Fringe shows.’
