The Fringe Central Events Programme is part of the service the Fringe Society offers to all those registered at the Fringe and delivers a series of professional development workshops, seminars, discussions and creative labs throughout the month of August.

The programme’s overall aims are to; develop skills, expand perceptions, build networks, advance careers and aid in the health and well-being of all those involved in a Fringe show.

We are currently looking for expressions of interest for the 2019 Fringe Central Events Programme. There are a number of recurring programme sections which are detailed below. For 2019, we have a strong interest in developing our Health and Wellbeing (with a particular focus on Mental Health) and Breaking Down Barriers sections. For the second year running, we have recruited a Youth Panel to help guide the Fringe Central Events Programme from curation to delivery, the event selection and content of each section will be influenced by their suggestions and interests.

In line with our continued commitment to support participants in an open and impartial manner, all events presented within Fringe Central must:

  • Be free to attend
  • Be open to anyone taking part in a Fringe show
  • Not be used as a promotional tool for any Fringe show

If you wish to run an event you can submit your proposal using the form below

Deadline for submissions of interest: 17:00 GMT, 06 March 2019

If we decide to programme your event, you will be required to provide final copy and artwork by 17:00 GMT on 26 March 2019 any event copy returned after this date will not be included in the printed Fringe Central Events Programme.

Please note: Events within the Fringe Central Events Programme are usually presented in partnership, with the Fringe Society providing in kind support via space and marketing of the programme via social media and the printed FC events programme to the thousands of artists, companies, arts professionals and media attending the festival every August. We are able to offer additional fees to support the involvement of freelance/independent practitioners and/or partners identified as key partners for the strategic benefit of the programme. If participation in the programme would be hard for you without this additional level of support, please talk to us.
